“I’ve got some news – I’ve been offered a job as a trainee product developer at Fennick Foods, the company that makes all those ready-made soups and sauces! I studied chemistry, so I know the science, but I’ve never worked in the food industry and I don’t really know what the job involves from day to day. You’ve been developing new products for a snack company for a couple of years now, haven’t you? What’s the work actually like? Was there anything about it that surprised you when you started? And is there anything I should do to make a good impression in my first few weeks?”
