Woman: Have you seen the email about the new desk system? From next month nobody has their own desk any more. You just book one when you arrive each morning. Man: I saw it. Management keeps saying it'll cut costs, but they're redecorating the whole floor to make it work, so I'll believe that when I see it. Woman: Well, it might pay off in the long run. What bothers me is the practical side. At the moment, if I need Dev from accounts, I know exactly where he sits. Under the new system he could be anywhere in the building. Man: That's exactly my worry. I'll spend half the morning wandering round looking for people. Apparently it was the graduate trainees who asked for it, though. Woman: Was it? I heard it was the directors' idea. Anyway, we'll see how it goes.
