Synthetic practice recording. This is not official exam audio.
Read listening script
Narrator: You hear two friends talking about a DNA test that one of them has taken. Man: Did your DNA results ever come back, Priya? Woman: Last week. My grandmother always insisted we had Portuguese sailors in the family, and there's nothing. Not a trace. Man: Oh no. Are you disappointed? Woman: Not really. I always thought that was one of Gran's stories. And before you ask, I read exactly what the company does with my data before I sent the sample off, so I'm not losing sleep over that. Man: So was it worth the money? Woman: Definitely, because of one thing. It matched me with a woman in Canada who turns out to be my second cousin. We've been messaging almost every day, and she's got photos of my great-grandparents that I'd never seen. That's what I'm really excited about.
